If rumours are believed, Barcelona want to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele next summer.
That is according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, who claimed on his Here We Go podcast that the Camp Nou outfit are monitoring the Frenchman.
Ndombele had a pretty disappointing first season at Tottenham relative to his £63 million price-tag, but he looks to be playing with much more freedom under Jose Mourinho this time around.
Barcelona were linked toward the end of last season too, when Mourinho and the former Lyon star had reportedly fallen out with one another.
The Daily Mail reported this week that the Spanish giants need to reduce their wage bill by £170 million, however.
And suffice to say that some Tottenham fans aren’t overly worried by the prospect of losing him to Ronald Koeman’s side.
Here’s how they reacted to the new speculation:
Romano did add that there was no chance of Ndombele leaving in January, but if he maintains this sort of form for the rest of the season then he won’t be leaving in the summer either.
Why would the 24-year-old want to leave North London just as he is becoming a big player for them?
It makes little sense but, after all, this is transfer gossip and things often fail to add up.
