Ianis Hagi will reportedly stay with Rangers according to his father Gheorghe Hagi amid interest from Galatasaray in the Romanian international.
Speaking to Sport.ro, the football legend revealed that he will be flying to Scotland to spend Christmas with his son after an impressive first half of the season with the Glasgow giants. Under new manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Hagi has continued to flourish for Rangers.
As reported by Sabah Spor, though, Galatasaray are interested in Hagi, with the playmaker’s father one of the Turkish clubs greatest ever players.
However, it looks like the junior Romanian will be staying in Scotland for now ahead of the winter market.
Moreover, as reported by Roma Press, Rangers have slapped a €20m (£17m) price tag on Hagi, a transfer fee that Galatasaray or any Turkish club will be unwilling to pay for Hagi in the January transfer window.
Indeed, Hagi looks set to stay with Rangers this winter, and the midfielder’s father more than confirmed this. The FC Barcelona icon said when asked about his son: “I’m going to see Ianis. I can’t wait to see him. He is staying with Rangers. He loves it there”
Rangers will be foolish to allow Hagi to join Galatasaray

A move to Galatasaray seems written in the stars for Hagi given the links his father has to the club and the quality the Rangers player has. However, the Scottish giants will be foolish to allow the playmaker to depart in 2022.
Whilst it is highly unlikely that such a move will happen in either the winter or summer, Hagi is simply too good to swap Scotland for Turkey, with the winger impressing under the new Rangers manager as we head into the business end of the season.
