Speaking on the Talking Transfers Podcast, Graeme Bailey has been discussing Raphinha and Arsenal’s interest in the Brazilian.
The Gunners have already had a bid rejected for the winger this month, but, as ever, it seems as though the London club won’t be deterred in their efforts to sign the Leeds United man.
However, there is a problem, Raphinha is very keen on a move to Barcelona, but as the Catalan club wrestle with financial difficulties, that move may not be possible.
Instead, a move within the Premier League could be on the cards for the attacker, and according to Bailey, the winger wants to join Arsenal.
What’s been said?
Bailey spoke about Raphinha.
“From what I’m hearing, he’s going to give Barcelona another week, we’ll hit July, Barca will do a lot of business in the coming days, and we’ll find out whether or not they actually have the money to do this deal. I think the Dembele one is important, but Raphinha is the one Deco is pushing,” Bailey said.
“We’ll know this time next week whether he’ll go to Barcelona or Arsenal, it does seem to be between those two. He wants to go to Arsenal, I have been told that, he loves Edu, he knows him as well, so it ticks a lot of boxes for Arsenal.”

Get him in
If Barcelona can’t do a deal for Raphinha then Arsenal need to do all they can to bring him to the Emirates.
The Brazilian would be an incredible fit for Mikel Arteta’s side, and while he may have to share minutes with Bukayo Saka, that rotation could be absolutely deadly for Arsenal.
Raphinha is a fantastic player, and the fact that he wants to join Arsenal bodes well for the Gunners’ chances of making this one happen.
