Richard Keys has said that Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli did not mean the assist for the first goal that the Gunners scored against Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Arsenal have got the better of Nottingham Forest 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League.

Eddie Nketiah opened the scoring for the Gunners in the 26th minute.

Bukayo Saka doubled the advantage for the North London club on 32 minutes.

Richard Keys on Gabriel Martinelli for Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest

It was Brazil international forward Gabriel Martinelli who provided the assist for Nketiah’s goal.

You can see it below.

Former Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys, who now works for beIN SPORT, believes that Martinelli did not mean the assist.

If you watch the video a few times, you will see what Keys means.

It did look like Martinelli had lost control of the ball, and that it fell kindly to Nketiah.

However, it could well be that the 22-year-old player meant it.

We will never know.

What we have to say is that Martinelli played well for Arsenal in their opening Premier League game of the season.

The Brazilian was very good in pre-season, and he was on fire today.

Martinelli is one of the best young forwards in the world, and we believe that the 22-year-old will be a big player for Arsenal this season, as the North London club aim to win the Premier League title as well as make an impact in the UEFA Champions League.
