Roy Keane said on Sky Sports Premier League (7:21pm, December 20, 2020) that Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale will not get back to the level he was a few years ago.

The Manchester United legend, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, believes that Bale looks way off it.

Keane made the comments about the Wales international winger after watching him in action during Tottenham’s 2-0 defeat to Leicester City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.

Bale, who returned to Spurs on loan from Spanish and European giants Real Madrid in the summer of 2020, did not start the match, but the 31-year-old winger came on as a substitute at the start of the second half.

Keane said about Bale on Sky Sports Premier League (7:21pm, December 20, 2020): “I don’t see Gareth Bale getting back to the level he was a few years ago.”

The United legend added: “He looks way off it.”

Disappointing from Gareth Bale

Bale has not had the best of times at Tottenham since his loan transfer from Madrid.

Against Leicester, the winger had yet another disappointing match, as the 31-year-old could not really make an impact on the game.

Although Bale made a couple of runs inside from the right, he could not do much of note otherwise.

According to WhoScored, the Madrid-owned winger took one shot which was not on target, played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 55.6%, won four headers, took 29 touches, attempted two dribbles, made one tackle, and put in two crosses.
