Liverpool’s Andy Robertson spoke on The Lockdown Tactics podcast about his compatriot and Arsenal star Kieran Tierney.
The duo faced each other at the Emirates this week where the younger of the two Scots put in an impressive display to get Arsenal a much-needed victory.
Tierney has shown real promise when he has played for the Gunners this term. The former Celtic man has struggled with injuries but his performances, especially since the restart, have been brilliant.
Robertson has arguably been the league’s best left-back since he joined Liverpool in 2017. Tierney’s arrival from Scotland brought in a wave of comparisons between the two but Robertson claims that he is fed up of it.
The Liverpool star admitted that he follows Tierney’s performances regularly and says there is no competition between the two to see who is better.
He said: “Me and him are probably sick to death of everyone comparing us. One good performance from each of us and its one of us is better than the other. Its just two players playing at a good level”

Tierney certainly does look special. The defender, still only 23, is already an integral part of Arsenal’s squad and, with a little bit of time, he could be fighting Robertson for the title of the best left-back in the Premier League.
Fans of the Scottish national team should be really excited about the future. Robertson’s fantastic record further up the pitch could open up a spot for him at left-wing and, with Tierney behind him, that side of the pitch could be world-class.
