Celtic-owned Maryan Shved has been given a fond farewell by his loan club.

The 21-year-old winger joined Celtic for £2 million in January [The Scottish Sun], before being loaned straight back to Ukrainian outfit Karpaty Lviv.

The one-time Ukraine international has been with the club since 2017, and they demonstrated their affinity for him in a Twitter post on Saturday.

Shved scored 14 goals in 24 league starts this season, a fine return, and Hoops fans have responded to the highlight reel that Karpaty posted on social media.

It’ll be interesting to see how Shved copes in the post-Brendan Rodgers era.

After all, it was the Northern Irishman who signed him for Celtic and with Rodgers now at Leicester City, it’s sort of awkward for the young winger.

Nevertheless, if he is good enough then he will surely impress whoever takes over from Rodgers, be it Neil Lennon or somebody else.
