Gary Neville noticed how Richarlison looked ‘a little awkward’ when trying to play on his left foot during Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-1 win over nine-man Liverpool on Saturday.
Whilst Richarlison found life tough last season under Antonio Conte after his club-record transfer, he is now starting to find his feet at Tottenham under the more attack-minded, Ange Postecoglou.
The Brazil international assisted Tottenham’s opening goal against Liverpool, which came via the boot of Son Heung-min, with Gary Neville thinking that he was constantly providing the ‘danger’ against the Reds, as he told Sky Sports Premier League (30/09/23 at 6:55 pm).
Of course, given his Everton past, the first Premier League goal of Richarlison’s Spurs career came at Anfield.
But that moment came crashing down when Spurs would go on to lose that match in stoppage time.
Whilst Liverpool fans revelled in that moment last season, it was Richarlison jumping with joy at the weekend because that’s now two assists and one goal from his last two home matches.

Gary Neville on Richarlison
“He’s done okay out there Richarlison,” said Neville. “He looks a little awkward on his left foot, but still providing the danger.”

Richarlison could be Ange Postecoglou’s biggest success story
In terms of importance and quality, there are other players out there, such as James Maddison and Yves Bissouma, who are better than Richarlison and far more important.
But that doesn’t mean that the ex-Everton man can’t be Ange Postecoglou’s biggest success story.
The fact of the matter is, as of this moment, he is deemed a flop by the footballing world. But if he can change all of that around, then his stock will seriously start going through the roof.
