Reported Arsenal target Odsonne Edouard will leave Celtic, according to comments from Frank McAvennie in Herald Scotland.
The Telegraph has reported this week that Arsenal are interested in signing Edouard from Celtic in the summer of 2021.
Leicester City are also interested in the French striker, according to the report, which has added that the 23-year-old will cost £15 million to £20 million in transfer fees.
Former Celtic striker McAvennie believes that Edouard will leave the Hoops at the end of the season, and while he has praised the Frenchman, he has said that the 23-year-old tries the specular a bit too often.
McAvennie said about Edouard in Herald Scotland: “He’s got everything in him to be a top striker. He likes it into feet. The boy Jonjo Kenny has been firing balls into the box and I look and think if that was Ally McCoist or myself on the end of it there would be goals.
“But that’s not Eddie’s game. He likes the spectacular. Unless he beats four players and puts it in the top corner he doesn’t want to know. But he is a wonderful talent and it’s no surprise the top teams will be looking at him.”
The pundit added: “They’ve got to do it now. Reading between the lines, it’s been agreed he will move on but who knows?”
Bargain signing for Arsenal?
Edouard is one of the best strikers in the Scottish Premiership, and for £20 million, the 23-year-old could prove to be a bargain signing for Arsenal.
Kieran Tierney joined the Gunners from Celtic in the summer of 2019, and the Scotland international has already established himself as one of the better left-backs in the Premier League.
Edouard scores goals, holds the ball up well, and links up nicely with fellow attacking players.
According to WhoScored, the 23-year-old has scored 16 goals and provided three assists in 23 Scottish Premiership starts for Celtic so far this season.
