Gary Neville said on his podcast last night that Liverpool have been better than Manchester City over the past three years.

The former Manchester United defender, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, said that he would take Liverpool over City over the past three years.

Of course, the Reds are having a bad time this season, but the Merseyside outfit won the Premier League title in 2019-20 with ease and missed out on the championship the year before by just a point.

City are likely to win their third title in four years this season, and Pep Guardiola’s side play some wonderful slick and entertaining football.

Liverpool’s football is more dynamic, with the players pressing high and always on the front foot, while City’s game is more possession based and maybe even more cultured.

Former United star Neville has said that before this season, he would take Liverpool over City, and some fans of the Merseyside club have responded to that, as shown below.

Liverpool have had a torrid time with injuries, and the Merseyside club are struggling in front of goal as well.

The Reds have lost their last six Premier League games at Anfield, and there is a chance that they will miss out on the top four.

However, Liverpool fans should stay positive, as there are still enough games left in the league.
