The Daily Star journalist Paul Brown has told GiveMeSport that Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno knows that he does not have a future at the Gunners under manager Mikel Arteta.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported that Arsenal manager Arteta does not trust Leno with the ball at his feet.
The Sun reported last month that Arsenal are now reportedly willing to accept £8.5 million for the Germany international goalkeeper, who is of interest to Benfica.
The goalkeeper cost Arsenal £19.3 million in transfer fees when they signed him from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2018 (BBC Sport).
Brown told GiveMeSport when asked whether Leno will settle for another season of sitting on the bench: “No, absolutely not. Arsenal effectively moved on from Leno some months ago.
“Arteta doesn’t trust him with the ball at his feet and he doesn’t have a future at the club, and he knows it.
“They have been trying to sell him for the last couple of windows and I think this is the time where he will get a move.”

Bernd Leno should leave Arsenal this summer
In our view, Bernd Leno should leave Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
The 30-year-old is at the top of his game now and has been successful at Arsenal.
Yes, Aaron Ramsdale is younger than Leno and is also better with his feet, but that does not change the fact that the German is a very good and capable goalkeeper.
We do not think that Leno should waste his time on the substitutes’ bench at Arsenal next season.
Yes, there will be Europa League games next season, but Ramsdale could play in them, especially if Arsenal progress far in the competition.
