Earlier today, Tottenham announced the signing of Djed Spence from Middlesbrough in a deal worth £20m.
According to Sky Sports, Spurs will pay an initial £12.5m for the defender, with a further £7.5m potentially coming in performance-related add-ons.
In his first interview at Tottenham, Spence revealed that he already knows Ryan Sessegnon, and shared what the left-back has told him about life in N17.
What’s the story?
Well, the £25m man has warned his old pal from Fulham not to rest on his laurels at Hotspur Way.
Spence told Tottenham: “I grew up with Ryan at Fulham, through the ranks from Under-12s to Under-16s. We played a Premier League tournament together and won that. He went with the first team at a young age and obviously his career has gone very well so far. He said just be prepared to work hard.”
Clearly, Sessegnon has been quick to warn the 21-year-old about how demanding life can be under Antonio Conte.
As we saw the other day, the Italian doesn’t mess around when it comes to preparing his players for the rigours of the Premier League, as the likes of Harry Kane and Heung-min Son collapsed during a bleep test.
Some even vomited, before getting up and carrying on.
Therefore, Spence should be prepared to push his body to the maximum under Conte.
Djed Spence must be careful at Tottenham

You may have heard about what happened between Spence and Neil Warnock at Middlesbrough.
The 73-year-old recently commented on his relationship with the England Under-21 international, who he shipped to Nottingham Forest while in charge of Middlesbrough due to some concerns over his attitude.
After Spence won the Championship play-off final with Nottingham Forest, he even sent Warnock a cheeky tweet from the Wembley dressing room.
Of course, we’re not sure who was in the right out of Spence and Warnock, but in our view, he would be wise not to try any funny business with Conte, who certainly won’t hesitate to axe the Londoner from his team.
Hopefully, Spence and Conte get on well, and the pair can bring silverware back to Tottenham.
