Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa told UMM’s official YouTube channel that he was ‘happy’ to hear Jamie Carragher praising him on Sky Sports.
In March, Carragher told Sky Sports that Konsa has made a ‘huge difference’ to Villa and the 22-year-old is a ‘brilliant’ player.
The Villa man was rightly singled out by the Liverpool legend because it could be argued that he has been Villa’s best defender for over 12 months now.
Konsa shared how he reacted to Carragher praising and singling him out on Sky’s platforms.
“Obviously, I was happy,” said Konsa. “I was happy. I wasn’t gassed. I was happy.
“I was just chilling there watching and then he just comes up with my name. He showed a few clips of me against Leeds that day.
“It’s always good when pundits talk about you and say a lot of good things about you. And obviously, it gives you a lot of confidence.”

Tyrone Mings is the Villa defender repping England on the international stage, but many argue it should be his partner in crime.
There’s no doubt that Konsa has outperformed the left-footer and it’s only a matter of time before he gets that nod.
Unfortunately for him, given that he wasn’t selected by Gareth Southgate last time out, that call won’t come before the Euros, but it won’t be too long before he’s training at St George’s Park.
