Tottenham might still be deflated by their 3-0 defeat to Fulham on Saturday, but the trust in Ange Postecoglou is still sky-high.
This time last season and in the summer, you wouldn’t have blamed the fans for thinking negatively because there seemed no sense of direction at the club.
But in stepped Ange Postecoglou, who has changed the mindset of the team and brought in an attacking style like no other.
Whilst Tottenham’s style of play pleases many, Tim Sherwood was keen to praise the character of the man and how ‘he isn’t an actor’, as he told Premier League Productions (16/03/24 at 7:50 pm).
The former title-winning player stated that Ange Postecoglou is ‘absolutely top draw’ and there is faith in him despite that morale-sapping loss to Fulham.
Yes, Aston Villa also dropped points to West Ham United on Sunday, but this was the team’s chance to push even further clear, especially after that 4-0 win at Villa Park last week.
But instead, it was a deserved loss and a defensive performance to forget for the Champions League-chasing side.
Despite that, Tim Sherwood was keen to point out the difference in the team now compared to previous years and how ‘paint watches Tottenham try’.
Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou
“I love him, I love Ange,” said Sherwood. “I think he is offensive. You want to have a drink with him in the pub.
“He is a manager who isn’t going to beat around the bush. Whatever he tells you is the truth. He will tell his friends that and he will tell the media that. He isn’t an actor. This guy is authentic and you have to believe him when he says that.
“Paint watches Tottenham dry in the last few years – not anymore. This guy is brilliant. He is absolutely top draw. The fans want to go and watch it. They never leave until the end because you are always on the edge of your seat.”

Champions League fight will go to the wire
Yes, Manchester United will still feel they are in it and will be on a high after beating Liverpool in the FA Cup.
But this race for fourth spot, and fifth could also become available, will go to the final few weeks of the campaign.
You can just see all three teams continuing to drop points, as well as the fact that Spurs and Villa play the Premier League’s top three in these coming months.
So, not only will these teams mark their own destiny, in terms of Champions League football, but they will also have a say in the Premier League title race.
