Simon Jordan has claimed that Arsenal forward Nicolas Pepe ‘isn’t a £72 million player’, as he told talkSPORT (07/09/21 at 12:55 pm).
The former Crystal Palace owner claimed that Pepe is just ‘decent’ and he hasn’t showcased why Arsenal paid a club-record fee for him in 2019.
Towards the back end of last season, Pepe produced his best football at the Emirates, but it was only for a short period of time.
During these first three games of the new Premier League season, he hasn’t continued that form, but the club’s three defeats in three games doesn’t help anyone’s cause.
Jordan slammed the 26-year-old’s time in England and how fans are still waiting for him to produce the goods.
“Pepe is a decent player,” said Jordan. “But he isn’t a £72 million player and he has been there for two-and-a-half years.
“So, how long is that future going to be before we see a £72 million player out on that pitch?”

Someone like Bukayo Saka, who came through the Hale-End ranks, has probably done more than what Pepe has done during these past few years.
It’s the England international who has looked like the £72 million player, not the Ivory Coast star.
Whilst Arsenal fans have been patient with Pepe in previous seasons, it’s not going to be the case this time around.
If he goes down the same road this season then it’s hard to really see him turn it around in North London.
