Dominic Matteo has said on LUTV that Leeds United attacker Rodrigo has yet to explode.
The former Leeds star believes that Rodrigo is underrated, and that he has yet to play at his best.
The pundit has added that the 30-year-old, who can operate as a striker, winger or attacking midfielder, is in decent form at the moment.
Matteo said about Rodrigo on LUTV: “Rodrigo is in decent form. I think he is underrated as well. I think we haven’t seen the best of him yet. That will come.”
Rodrigo will get better
Rodrigo has been playing as a striker in recent games due to the injury to Patrick Bamford.
The former Valencia star is doing well in that role and has earned a call-up to the latest Spain squad.
However, in our view, Rodrigo’s best position is behind the main striker.

The Spaniard is best playing behind Bamford.
Now, we know that Rodrigo can score goals, but his strength lies in creating chances and linking up play.
Moreover, Bamford is a more natural number 9.
Rodrigo has scored two goals in nine Premier League appearances so far this season.
The Leeds no. 19 scored seven goals and gave two assists in 14 league starts for the Whites during the 2020-21 campaign.
