Former Liverpool midfielder Don Hutchison believes his old side have a shot at winning the Premier League title if they sign Brighton & Hove Albion’s Moises Caicedo this summer.
Liverpool have already brought in Moises Caicedo‘s ex-teammate Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, but Jurgen Klopp could still do with at least one more new addition for the middle of the park.
The Reds recently allowed both Jordan Henderson and Fabinho to move to Saudi Arabia, which comes after the departures of James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
It is why Liverpool still need to strengthen their engine room, with Hutchison suggesting that Caicedo could be the perfect signing.
“If Liverpool sign Caicedo (on top of what they have already got) they could win it… He is that good!” Hutchison said in a post on Twitter.
Moises Caicedo is too expensive
Caicedo would be a great addition to Liverpool’s squad, especially after Fabinho’s exit.
The 21-year-old is a really good ball-winner, making 100 tackles in the Premier League last season — only Fulham’s Joao Palhinha recorded more (FBref).
Nevertheless, it is still hard to imagine the Merseyside club signing Caicedo this summer. Right now, he has a ridiculous price tag on his head.

According to The Guardian, Brighton want £100m for the Ecuadorian, a number that is causing Chelsea problems at present as they look to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
You have to question if Caicedo is worth anywhere near that. He is still just 21 and only cost the Seagulls £4m when they signed him from Independiente del Valle in 2021.
With West Ham United managing to sell Declan Rice to Arsenal for £105m, though, you suspect that Brighton feel that Caicedo is worth just as much.
It is bad news for Liverpool if they are considering making a move for the Ecuador international, who could now be set to stay at the Amex Stadium because of his gigantic price tag.
