Schalke sports director Jochen Schneider has told Sport1 that Weston McKennie will not leave, amid reported interest from Liverpool, Everton and Newcastle United.

Bild reported last week that Everton and Newcastle are interested in signing McKennie from Schalke in the summer transfer window.

90min claimed earlier this month that Liverpool – who have just won the Premier League title this season – are looking into the possibility of securing the services of the 21-year-old midfielder.

However, Schneider has said that he is confident that McKennie will not leave the German club this summer.

Schneider told Sport1 about McKennie, as translated by Goal.com: “He is our player. I strongly believe that he will stay with us.”

Stats

According to WhoScored, McKennie made 24 starts and four substitute appearances in the Bundesliga for Schalke this season, scoring three goals in the process.

Premier League move this summer?

While Schalke may feel very confident about keeping hold of the midfielder, there is no denying that money talks.

Everton, Newcastle and Liverpool all are big Premier League clubs, and an offer from either of them could be very tempting for the Bundesliga outfit.

Moreover, the USA international midfielder himself may be tempted to switch to England and play for the Toffees, the Reds or the Magpies.
