Some Leeds United fans on Twitter are drooling over Illan Meslier’s performance for them in their 3-1 win away to Leicester City this afternoon.
The French goalkeeper, a £5 million permanent signing last summer, had a stormer for the Whites throughout the 90 minutes.
There’s a few question marks over his distribution but, if not for the 20-year-old, Leeds could and would have conceded a lot more goals than just the one.
The 20-year-old produced some fine stops to keep out Ricardo and Ayoze Perez in both halves.
And here’s how fans of the Elland Road club reacted to his display:
Meslier aside, virtually all of Marcelo Bielsa’s side put a shift in today.
This is arguably the Whites’ best result since returning to the Premier League, when you consider that Leicester were genuine title challengers prior to kickoff.
On their day, Leeds, who drew with Manchester City and Arsenal this season, losing to Liverpool due to a last-minute winner, are a match for anybody in England’s top flight and results like this prove as much.
