Danny Ings is ‘happy’ at Aston Villa and Steven Gerrard ‘likes him’, says Sky Sports reporter Mark McAdam.
Last summer, Villa secured the surprise transfer of the three-cap England international from Southampton for £25 million (Sky Sports).
The 29-year-old struggled for large parts of the campaign in the Midlands, scoring seven Premier League goals under both Dean Smith and then Gerrard.

Ings’ performances did pick up under Gerrard, but the Englishman just couldn’t find that clinical edge to his game.
90min recently reported that Villa were ‘open to offers’ to sell the former Burnley player, less than 12 months after snapping him up.
But Sky reporter McAdam has put an end to that all by sharing that the striker ‘still has something to offer’ at Villa.
“He is happy at Aston Villa,” said McAdam. “Steven Gerrard likes him.
“He knows that he has a player that can score goals and I think he still has got something to offer in the Midlands.
“But the strikers are the ones that are at a premium. Everyone wants a striker that can find the back of the net and Danny Ings can do that.”

VILLA SHOULD KEEP INGS
There’s no doubt that Ings should have produced more for the club last season and there was disappointment in how he performed, but he wasn’t the only one.
One of Villa’s biggest problems was their lack of balance and defensive bite in the middle of the park.
Well, the arrival of Boubacar Kamara and Diego Carlos provides Villa with that balance that they crave.
And hopefully, from their perspective, it eases the pressure on the whole team to push further forward and allow their attackers to thrive, including Ings.
