The Roma goalkeeper has been linked with a move to Liverpool over this past week.

The Reds have been dealt a blow in their reported pursuit of Roma goalkeeper Alisson, following comments made by the player’s agent Ze Maria insisting that his client is happy in Rome, as quoted by Italian media outlet Pagine Romaniste.
According to the Sun, Jürgen Klopp has identified the 25-year-old Brazilian as one of his key transfer targets this summer, in an attempt to bring an end to Liverpool’s uncertainty in the goalkeeping position – a move that the German believed could be the final piece of the puzzle for his side.
Both Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius have both proven that they are quite simply not good enough to play for a team who are expected to challenge for major honours.

The persistent mistakes that the pair have made over the course of the past couple of years have undermined Liverpool’s chances of challenging for the league title, and the addition of a top class stopper would surely help take Klopp’s side to another level.
They might just have to accept defeat in their pursuit of Alisson, however, for the time being at least.

The Roma star’s agent sat down for an exclusive interview with Pagine Romaniste, and insisted that his client is in no rush to move anywhere:
“Up to now I have not been contacted by anyone. He still has three and a half years left on his deal. We are not in a hurry and Alisson is happy in Rome.”
Things can change very quickly in football though, and it would come as no surprise to see Ze Maria change his stance on Alisson if and when Liverpool actually came in with a concrete offer for his services.
