Everton’s 1-1 draw at Brighton and Hove Albion didn’t do much to inspire Toffees fans – or Liverpool mayor Joe Anderson, for that matter.
The Toffees travelled to the Amex Stadium on Sunday afternoon in search of a much-needed three points, given that they had lost four of their first seven Premier League games.
However, Everton were flat yet again, and Brighton took a late lead through Anthony Knockaert, which was seemingly sending Everton towards another defeat.

The Toffees and Koeman were handed a reprieve though, as Bruno’s foul on Dominic Calvert-Lewin handed Everton a penalty, and Wayne Rooney stepped up to score the equaliser.
A point was better than nothing for Everton, but it was another disappointing performance, and leaves them with just eight points from eight games as Koeman struggles to get all his new signings to gel.
The Dutchman was backed with signings such as Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane, Davy Klaassen, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Sandro Ramirez and Rooney, but with just two league wins and only five goals scored, Everton are struggling.
Koeman is now under huge pressure from fans, and Joe Anderson – the mayor of Liverpool – has weighed in with his take on the debate surrounding Koeman’s future.
Anderson felt it was another poor performance against a ‘very poor side’ in Brighton, and questioned whether any Everton players have improved under Koeman, adding that Koeman is ‘clearly the problem’ and may not have a solution to the current problems in his side.
