Gary Neville has claimed that Tottenham striker Harry Kane was ‘class’ against Manchester City on Saturday, as he told Sky Sports.
The Sky pundit heaped praise on the ‘outstanding’ performance from the Englishman during Tottenham’s stunning 3-2 win at the Etihad.
Despite going into the game on the back of three defeats on the bounce, Spurs produced perhaps their best performance in many a year.
Just like at Leicester City a number of weeks ago, they also showcased a never give up attitude with Kane netting a dramatic stoppage-time winner for his side.
Former Manchester United defender Neville shared his thoughts on Kane’s performance and how he was near-perfect on the day.
“He is class,” said Neville. “I have said before, these players that are of the highest level. Even if they are going through a more difficult patch, on the pitch and off the pitch, they still perform. They still give a lot to the team.
“It was outstanding, I wouldn’t call it centre-forward performance, I would just call it an all-round general leadership performance.
“To go to Manchester City, you know how it is. You are living off scraps. Your possession is down to 25-30%. Your touches in the game are less.
“So, when you get touches in the game. They have to count. He made every single touch count, Harry Kane. He was so precise in everything that he did.”

For large parts of the season, Kane has struggled for form and consistency.
But, over the weekend, he showcased why he is regarded as one of the best number 9’s in world football – and why those in Manchester were so keen to sign him up in the summer.
These are very good signs for those in north London because, if Kane has left his best form till the final few months of the season, then it bodes well for his side’s Champions League places.
The key thing for Conte and his players is adding to the Man City display and that starts away at Burnley in midweek.
