Speaking on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, Bruno Guimaraes has been discussing Allan Saint-Maximin.
The Brazilian midfielder was tasked with creating his so-called ultimate five-a-side team made up of his teammates past and present, and while he’s played with some amazing attackers during his time, he chose Saint-Maximin in his side.
Indeed, while the likes of Richarlison, Antony and Gabriel Jesus were options, Guimaraes stuck with his Newcastle teammate, stating that he’s an amazing player.
Guimaraes hails Saint-Maximin
The midfielder picked his teammate in his dream team.
“Richarlison, Gabriel Jesus, Allan Saint-Maximin, Maxwell Cornet or Antony?” Guimaraes was asked.
“I would take Allan Saint-Maximin. For me it’s the skills that he has he is amazing. Last season he was the best one in the dribbles. He always has something different to do and I would pick him. We have a big relationship as well, so I would put him in, but all of those players in attack are amazing. But I would pick out Saint-Maximin,” Guimaraes said.
Unplayable
Saint-Maximin may not play to the level of some of the players mentioned on a weekly basis, but when he’s at his best, he’s simply unplayable.
As Guimaraes says, he can bring something different to every single game, and that means that no defender is ever prepared for him.
Of course, as we all know, his end product isn’t quite there, but if you catch him on the right day, you’re genuinely looking at one of the very best players in the Premier League.
We can see why Saint-Maximin made Guimaraes’ team, and he’d probably get into our side as well if we were presented with the same options.
