Gabriel Jesus maintained his excellent form for Arsenal on Wednesday evening.

The former Manchester City hitman opened the scoring in the Gunners’ 2-1 victory over Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium.

In doing so, Jesus now has three Premier League goals in five outings since joining Mikel Arteta’s side during the summer.

The 25-year-old has become an instant fan favourite at the Emirates Stadium and he’s seemingly massively popular among his teammates, too.

Here’s what Gabriel Martinelli told BT Sport after the game about his compatriot: “He makes our job so much easier. He is a beast. He is everywhere on the pitch, we are so happy with him and we are lucky to have him here.”

You could argue that the Gunners have had the easiest start to the campaign of any side but, then again, you still have to win the games and yesterday was another major test for Arteta’s side, albeit in different circumstances.

While Aston Villa weren’t playing excellent prior to visiting the Emirates, Douglas Luiz still scored a late equaliser for the visitors on 74 minutes.

However, the North Londoners responded rapidly and Martinelli fired home the winner only four minutes later.

There’s definitely a resilience about this Arsenal side that wasn’t there even last season and it’s fascinating to see what they, with Gabriel Jesus in attack, can achieve this season.

He isn’t a beast in terms of height or weight, but he is in regards to appetite and he could do wonderful things under the Spanish manager this season.
