West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has taken to Twitter to hail teenage defender Declan Rice’s impact against West Bromwich Albion.
The Hammers needed a win when they faced fellow strugglers West Brom on Tuesday night, but fell behind at the London Stadium when James McClean’s deflected strike looped into the net.
Fortunately, David Moyes’ men recovered in the second half, equalising through Andy Carroll’s header before the giant striker sealed a last-gasp winner to hand West ham a 2-1 victory.

That result takes West Ham out of the bottom three and into 16th place in the Premier League table, with Moyes claiming three wins in the last six games.
A number of players received praise for their showings in the second half against West Brom, but co-chairman David Gold has singled out Declan Rice for praise.
Rice, 18, has come up through the ranks with the Hammers and looks set for a huge future having shown promise this season, and he came on as a substitute for Aaron Cresswell against West Brom.
Today, Gold has taken to Twitter to state that, whilst Rice was only on the pitch for 20 minutes, he impressed again, backing him to make it as a Premier League star even though he will make mistakes as a teenager.
