Roy Keane slammed Aaron Cresswell’s defending during West Ham’s 2-1 defeat against Manchester United on Sunday, as he told Sky Sports PL (19/09/21 at 2:55 pm).
Cristiano Ronaldo was once again on the scoresheet and Keane felt that, from West Ham’s part, Cresswell could have been ‘stronger’ and ‘more aggressive’ moments before the Manchester United striker could net his third in two Premier League matches.
Following a corner, Man United kept the ball alive, put the ball into the box with none other than Ronaldo being the one who headed the ball towards goal.
His initial shot was saved and then, on the re-bound, he poked the ball into the net to equalise.
And Keane felt that given that Cresswell is up against ‘one of the best in the world’, he should have done a lot better.
“Cresswell has to defend better there, though,” said Keane. “He has to get across.
“He is up against one of the best players in the world. He has to be stronger and more aggressive.”

It was a crazy ending at the London Stadium because none other than Jesse Lingard scored the winner from the bench.
But minutes later, and in stoppage-time, the Hammers were awarded a penalty after a handball from Luke Shaw.
In his final season in West Ham colours, Mark Noble came off the bench just to take the penalty, only for David de Gea to save the spot-kick.
Lingard scoring the winner was written in the scripts given what the England international did in East London last season.
But many West Ham fans probably thought Noble scoring from the bench would have also been written in the scripts, but it just wasn’t meant to be.
