Pau Torres is a player reportedly on the radar of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, but his manager, Unai Emery, believes that the central defender should join Real Madrid or Barcelona instead, as quoted in Marca.
The Daily Mail reported in March 2021 that Torres is a player Liverpool are looking to sign in the summer of 2021, as covered by HITC Sport.
Former Arsenal manager Emery is now in charge of Villarreal, and the Spaniard believes that if the 24-year-old is to leave his club this summer, then the centre-back should join Madrid or Barcelona – he is that good.
Emery told Marca about Torres: “And Pau Torres? Double (the pride), because he’s also from here. If he leaves here, he has to go to Real Madrid or Barcelona.”
Pau Torres to Liverpool?
Torres is a very good central defender who has progressed well at Villarreal, and there is a very good chance that he will leave the club in the summer of 2021, especially if good offers are made.
The 24-year-old is at the right age to take the next step in his career and could flourish at Liverpool.
Emery claiming that the Spain international is good enough for Madrid or Barcelona shows just how good he is, and Torres would be a very good signing for Liverpool.
