Andy Cole has spoken in awe of goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale and how he has ‘improved so much’ in the colours of Arsenal.

The Manchester United legend stated that Aaron Ramsdale is showcasing that he has ‘rapid’ feet when trying to keep the ball out from the back of the net.

After joining Arsenal in 2021, many questioned why Mikel Arteta targeted the 24-year-old.

Ramsdale had suffered back-to-back relegations with Sheffield United and Bournemouth, but a few years later, he is now pushing to win the Premier League title.

It just proves how the tide can change for you as a footballer, with Andy Cole giving Ramsdale his flowers, as he told Premier League Productions (16/04/23 at 1:20 PM).

“He is (a centre-forwards nightmare),” said Cole. “I am sitting here and looking at all those saves. People will say ‘oh, they (the strikers) have missed’.

“If you have a look at Ramsdale’s feet, his feet are rapid. He has got really good feet. He moves across his goal very, very quickly. He is a bit of a cat. He makes some really good saves.

“I think he improved so much. I don’t like to talk about goalkeepers or defenders because it’s not my position. When you watch things like that, then you have to give him his flowers. I think he has been brilliant.”

POINTS DROPPED

At Anfield, the argument could be made that it was a point gained by Arsenal in their Premier League title fight with Manchester City.

They had Ramsdale to thank for that because, especially during the last ten minutes, he turned into prime Peter Schmeichel.

But it was points dropped at West Ham, and whilst Arsenal fans will feel the title is slipping away from them, it’s still in their hands.
