Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted to the quite bizarre situation surrounding Toby Alderweireld.
The Evening Standard claim that Jose Mourinho’s decision to not select Alderweireld in Tottenham’s matchday squad on Sunday has caused some confusion.
Mourinho claimed that the Tottenham defender reported late for training and then didn’t make the COVID tests ‘on time’ for what turned out to be their 2-2 draw against Newcastle.
But as the above report states, Alderweireld reported to Hotspur Way on Wednesday afternoon and was tested.
Tottenham fans have been left baffled by the situation and there are more questions seemingly being asked than answered.
Of course, if Spurs were winning on a weekly basis and everything was rosy in the garden then such an issue would be dampened slightly.
But with the season Tottenham have had and the manager they have at the helm then it’s all going to be blown up.
All will, of course, be made clear in the coming days, but either way, it has left many questioning what on earth is happening.
