David Moyes has been speaking to the media ahead of West Ham’s clash with Manchester United on Sunday.

Specifically, he was keen to discuss areas in which Saïd Benrahma needs to improve.

The 6-cap Algeria international is likely to start against the Red Devils, with Jesse Lingard unable to play against his parent club as per the conditions of his loan deal.

Moyes said that he feels his £30 million January signing needs to calm down inside the area, as his wait for a first Premier League goal continues.

As quoted by the Evening Standard, the Hammers boss said: “First of all he has got to stop hitting them over the bar. He’s got to start getting them under the crossbar.

“He has just got to stay steady, he has been taking on shots which aren’t at the right moment or time to do so, I think he just needs to calm down a bit and let it come to him rather than going and looking for it so much.”

In our view, the 25-year-old is just going through an adaptation phase, and the goals will come in due course.

West Ham’s No.9 scored 17 goals for Brentford in 46 appearances last season, so he clearly knows how to finish.

So far this term, Benrahma has just four assists to show for his efforts in 19 Premier League appearances.

A player of his mesmeric quality is definitely capable of more – it’s down to him to unlock it, with the help of Moyes on the training ground.

Once he gets going, West Ham’s attack could become seriously frightening.

Michail Antonio and Jesse Lingard are already looking dangerous on a weekly basis, while the threat of Jarrod Bowen cutting in from the left shouldn’t be forgotten.

With Declan Rice and Tomáš Souček behind them, West Ham’s front six is looking very formidable on paper, to say the least.
