Micah Richards has claimed that on-loan Rangers midfielder Malik Tillman has ‘something special’ about his game.

The former Premier League defender added that the Bayern Munich loanee has ‘caught his eye’ after a strong start to life for Rangers for the 20-year-old, as he told CBS Sports (14/09/22 at 7:40 pm).

It has been a season of indifferent performances and frustration in Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s first full campaign in charge.

But a bright light emerging for those in Glasgow is Tillman, who arrived from Germany in the summer, and the Gers have the option to sign him up on a permanent basis, as reported by Sky Sports.

Nonetheless, when talking about Rangers, former Premier League winner Richards spoke highly about their USA international.

“If you go to Ibrox and feel the atmosphere there, then they (the fans) are incredible,” said Richards.

“One player who caught my eye is Tillman. Another American, who is on loan from Bayern Munich. He’s 20-years-old, but he has got something special about him. He has a big future ahead of him, he really has.”

PRESSURE ON GIO

A heavy defeat to Celtic in the Old Firm game. Two Champions League matches and outclassed in both.

Things aren’t going well for Gio at Ibrox and the pressure is mounting on the Dutchman.

The issue van Bronckhorst is facing is that his Rangers side are heading towards finishing rock bottom in their Champions League group.

And if they even begin to drop any points in the Premiership, then he will be in real trouble, but, for now, he will be backed to turn the current deflated mood around.
