Shaun Wright-Phillips says Aaron Ramsdale did ‘quite well’ for Arsenal despite his side’s 4-1 defeat to Manchester City.
The former Manchester City winger gloated and joked that it could have been ‘seven’ for Pep Guardiola’s side, that’s how dominant they were.
In truth, at the half-time break, you have to question whether Arsenal were fortunate that more than two goals weren’t scored by the home team.

Erling Haaland would have certainly questioned how he didn’t manage to find the back of the net, before he scored in stoppage time.
It was an off-day for many Arsenal players at the Etihad, with perhaps Aaron Ramsdale the only one who could hold his head high, as Wright-Phillips told Premier League Productions (26/04/23).
“I personally would have said it could have been seven myself,” gloated Wright-Phillips in response to the scoreline not being worse for Arsenal.
“Ramsdale has done quite well. Against a team like Man City, you are either going to press or you are going to drop-off.
“For me, they are in the middle and they are half-pressing.”

RAMSDALE’S RECENT PERFORMANCES
In recent weeks, with Arsenal dropping points from their last four matches, one man that has been consistently good has been Ramsdale.
If it wasn’t for him, then things would have been a lot worse at Anfield because that was the England star’s best performance in an Arsenal shirt.
To win a title, you need a great goalkeeper. Arsenal have that, but perhaps, it is too early for the team to get over that line yet.
