Tony Cascarino told talkSPORT that Tottenham striker Harry Kane has been ‘very quiet’ about his future up until now.

Tottenham’s sought-after hitman has claimed that he will decide his future until after the Euros and he will ‘see where we go from there’ once the final ball has been kicked this term, as he told Sky Sports.

Trophies are the name of the game for Kane and he can achieve that if Tottenham can see past Pep Guardiola’s flying machine in the League Cup final.

But former Republic of Ireland striker, Cascarino, shared his thoughts on Kane’s recent comments and how he’s seemingly changing his tune.

“All the best players on the planet always have a question at the end of the season,” said Cascarino. “What they are doing, what the future lies for them, are there options for them that are better?

“Don’t tell me that Lionel Messi, Ronaldo, Lewandowski, loads of other players, every year their future comes into question, it does, normally.

“And Harry Kane is playing in a team that are not winning things. Now, they can win the League Cup this year, obviously, they are out of the Europa League and now that’s gone.

“Harry Kane’s a player that should be playing Champions League football every season and playing for a team that is challenging for the biggest things.

“He has been very quiet, social media and in interviews, he hasn’t said much and that’s the most we have heard from him for a number of months. And it’s not a surprise, he’s a player who is 27-years-old. He has got a big decision to make.”

Daniel Levy will play a big part in Kane’s future because he may have to do some convincing.

Not necessarily from a financial perspective, in terms of bulking up Kane’s wages, but the players they bring in this summer.

It’s pretty clear that Tottenham’s squad needs refreshing and if Levy pushes for the big boys then it will be a sign of serious intent from the club’s chairman.
