French football expert Julien Laurens has tipped reported Tottenham target Etienne Green to flourish in the Premier League if the young keeper makes the move to England.

Speaking to BBC Sport, the pundit was full of praise for the Saint- Etienne star, who has been one of the few bright spots for the Ligue 1 side this campaign as Les Verts sit rock 18th in the French top flight.

As reported by TeamTalk, Tottenham are one of a handful of Premier League sides interested in the England youth international, who is tipped for a big move this summer after asserting himself in France his season.

Born in Colchester but raised in France, Green has been a sensation for Saint-Etienne this season, with the 21-year-old keeper making 15 starts in Ligue 1 this campaign, though the youngster’s last appearance came in 2021 after suffering an elbow injury.

Whilst Green’s playing time has dropped in recent weeks, Laurens is still confident that the Ligue 1 prospect will go on to have a successful career, and potentially one in the Premier League.

The BBC Sport pundit said: “I think eventually [he will be a Premier League goalkeeper]. He has all the attributes; he is really tall. He is really strong on his line, he still needs to improve on some aspects of his game of course.”

With Hugo Lloris reaching the twilight years of his career and having a somewhat underwhelming season, a new goalkeeper should be a priority for Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici. And Green could be the player to take over from the Tottenham icon.

Aged just 21 and already experienced playing top-level football as well as being a part of the English youth international system, Green ticks many boxes Tottenham are looking for in a new keeper. Especially one who was labelled ‘perfect’ by former PSG tar Mickael Landreau.
