Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Teddy Sheringham has been speaking about Harry Kane following his two emphatic penalties against Panama.
The England striker converted two excellent spot kicks against Panama on Sunday, as the Three Lions stormed to a 6-1 victory in Nizhny Novgorod.

The Spurs hitman is currently the tournament’s top goal-scorer with five strikes in two games, and it is encouraging to see how clinical Kane’s finishing is on the biggest stage.
The 24-year-old’s spot kicks were emphatically dispatched and Sheringham, a frequent penalty taker himself during his playing career, has explained why he always fancies Kane to score.
He said, as quoted by Tottenham’s official website: “Harry had that aura about him when he scored the penalties. He’s got a penalty, he knows it’s a chance to score a goal and he’s making sure of it.
“He’s putting the ball exactly where he wants it, at pace. That’s not just putting it anywhere, he’s putting it exactly where he wants. You have to take your hat off to him.
“The pressure’s on but he’s relaxed, he’s in his own world, taking his time, breathing nicely and he’s saying to himself ‘I practised this who knows how many times and I’m going to put it where I want to put it, with pace. If the goalkeeper does go the right way, there is enough pace on it to beat him. It’s fantastic.”
Sheringham, who earned 51 Three Lions caps as a player, will be hoping to see Kane continue in the same vein as Gareth Southgate’s side take on Belgium on Thursday.
It is expected that Roberto Martinez will make a number of changes for the group-deciding game, with a handful of his players on yellow cards and a couple of individuals carrying knocks.
Southgate is also likely to field a slightly different XI in a bid to keep his squad fresh, and it remains to be seen if Kane starts or if his pursuit of a coveted World Cup golden boot is interrupted.
