Stan Collymore has written in The Mirror that Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa cannot get his team to defend.
The former Liverpool and Aston Villa striker has said that Bielsa is a good manager, but he believes that the Argentine has to make sure that his team concede fewer goals.
Leeds have conceded as many as 30 goals in the Premier League already this season, more than any other side.
Collymore wrote in The Mirror: “He’s a good manager who has a very open and expansive idea about how the game should be played but he has an Achilles heel in the Premier League, which is his inability to defend.
“You cannot concede 30 goals in 14 games, and more than three goals six times. I don’t care if you score 100 goals at the other end, 30 goals in the Premier League after 14 games is poor. They’re on course to concede 100 goals over their 38 Premier League games.”
Collymore also made a series of posts on Twitter on Sunday while watching Leeds suffer a 6-2 defeat to Manchester United away from home at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
Defensive problems
Leeds were very good going on the attack against United, but defensively they were far from impressive.
The Red Devils could have scored more than the six goals that they did, and it has to be a concern for the Whites.
If Leeds are to be successful in the Premier League this season, then they have to find a way to be better defensively.
It is simply not possible for Leeds to keep on conceding goals the way they are doing at the moment.
