Kia Joorabchian has suggested to Sky Sports that Willian may not sign a new contract with Chelsea, amid reported interest from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

According to The Daily Star, Tottenham want to sign Willian on a free transfer this summer, while The Daily Mail has claimed that Arsenal are interested in bringing the Brazil international to the Emirates Stadium (click here to read more).

The 31-year-old, who can operate as a winger or as an attacking midfielder, is out of contract at Chelsea at the end of this month.

Willian’s agent Joorabchian has given an update on the situation of the Brazilian, and he has suggested that he could leave Chelsea when his current contract runs out.

Joorabchian told Sky Sports: “Willian wanted to sign a three-year contract and then see where his career takes him. Chelsea’s policy only allows two, so that’s where the sticking block was.

“Chelsea have a policy, which we respect and understand, but Willian has a career and he has ambition. He wants to finish his playing career at a very high level.”

Brilliant signing for Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspur

Willian is one of the best attack-minded players in the Premier League, and the Brazil international would be a stunning signing for Arsenal or Tottenham.

Amid the economic uncertainty caused by the global health crisis, signing a player of Willian’s quality and experience on a free transfer would be a coup for any club.
