Darren Bent has backed Josh King to ‘score goals in the Premier League’ amid rumours that he could return with the likes of West Ham and Everton interested in signing him this month.
The talkSPORT pundit stated that King has ‘all the ability’ to find the back of the net after he netted a brace for Bournemouth in the FA Cup over the weekend.
The Daily Mail recently claimed that West Ham want to bolster their attack and they have an eye on King, whilst Everton have also joined the race for his signature, according to the Sun.
Nonetheless, after being told about King’s current situation and those interested parties, Bent shared these thoughts.
“He has got all the ability to score goals in the Premier League,” said Bent. “What’s kind of good about him is his versatility as well.
“He can play right, down the middle and on the left.”

Given that King’s current deal expires in the summer, it will be interesting to see how the likes of West Ham and Everton attack this situation.
Whilst both clubs could do with added depth in the final third, they aren’t desperate for his talents because they have Michail Antonio and Dominic Calvert-Lewin doing bits for them this season, respectively.
But like Calvert-Lewin’s current short-term injury has proven and Antonio’s record in that department – anything long-term and then there would be worry, so perhaps they may need to push the boat out for King during this winter window.
