Jose Mourinho has told Football London that Tottenham Hotspur’s Gareth Bale may just be able to play against West Ham United on Sunday.
Bale has struggled for game time at Spurs this season, and has fallen well out of favour.
However, the Welshman started against Wolfsberger AC in the Europa League last night and put in a seriously encouraging display.
Bale scored a wonderful solo goal and also claimed an assist in Tottenham’s 4-1 victory.
There is now a feeling that Bale could be added to Tottenham’s attack on a more regular basis.
And when asked whether the 31-year-old is likely to feature at the weekend against West Ham, Mourinho said: “I know that the match is already Sunday at 12pm but I believe that he has a chance to play the match and let’s wait.

“He’s the kind of player also, who is experienced and his feeling are a very important thing, like Harry Kane. I believe for him it was important to play and not to play the full 90 minutes.”
If Bale does feature for Tottenham the pressure will be on him to perform.
There is certainly a space in Tottenham’s attack available to claim, as the likes of Lucas Moura, Erik Lamela and Steven Bergwijn have all failed to really nail down their spot in the side, when offered chances.
If Spurs can beat West Ham then they could move just three points behind their London rivals, which would be a big boost to their chances of breaking back into the top six.
