Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Jurgen Klopp has given an update on Darwin Nunez’s fitness.
The Uruguayan has had quite the week, he scored the winner against West Ham on Wednesday evening while he has also been named as the fastest player in the Premier League this week, but sadly, he also picked up a muscle issue against the Hammers.
Klopp admitted after the game that Nunez was suffering with a bit of a problem, and sadly, it doesn’t sound as though that issue has fully subsided with Nunez remaining a doubt ahead of the Forest game.

Nunez a doubt
Klopp says that the striker was still having treatments on Thursday and that he wasn’t sure if he could play.
“Just to check with Darwin, you said after the game he had a muscle issue?” The Liverpool boss was asked.
“He’s one of these now we have to check. He had treatment yesterday and we will see what I get told. I will get told later on,” Klopp said.
Far from ideal
The last thing Liverpool need right now is more attacking injuries.
Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota are already sidelined with long-term issues, and while it sounds like Nunez will be back in no time, any sort of setback is a blow.
It’s even more frustrating because Nunez was just hitting top form, he’d scored against the Hammers while his recently-published speed stats also had everyone purring.
Unfortunately, Nunez may not be able to start against Forest, but luckily for Liverpool, the Tricky Trees sit at the foot of the Premier League and should be relatively easy opposition for the Reds on Saturday, so Nunez shouldn’t be missed too much.
Fingers crossed the Uruguayan is fit to play though, because this would be a great chance for him to grab a goal or two and build his confidence.
