LONDON, ENGLAND - NOVEMBER 21: Tanguy Ndombele of Tottenham Hotspur is challenged by Ruben Dias of Manchester City during the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on November 21, 2020 in London, England. Gary Neville stated, during Sky Sports’ coverage of Tottenham’s win against Manchester City, that Tanguy Ndombele is ‘certainly getting into it now’ after having a ‘tough time’ at the club.

Ndombele started his sixth Premier League game in a row on Saturday and Neville shared how the combative midfielder was ‘disappointed’ at being subtitled after 64 minutes.

Well, those disappointments from Ndombele would have been washed away before he could take his seat in the stands because his replacement – Giovani Lo Celso – scored within a minute of coming onto the pitch.

After being publicly called out by his manager, Neville thinks Spurs fans are now seeing the best from their club-record signing.

“He seems disappointed,” said Neville. “I think he has been pretty good. He had a tough time at Spurs but he is certainly getting into it now.

“Starting to see a lot more from him. He has had a decent 64 minutes.”

Jose Mourinho celebrated one year at Tottenham last week and he topped it off by guiding his team to the top of the tree heading into what will be a busy Christmas period.

It could be argued that Ndombele has been one of his success stories and a player who is now dominating everything before him.

Previously, Spurs missed that bite in the middle of the park, but he has brought it back, along with summer signing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who are now filling the void left by the previously popular duo – Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele.
