Gary Neville has hailed Tottenham Hotspur transfer target and Everton goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford, who ‘grows’ when he dons England colours.

England are in the quarter-finals of the Qatar World Cup and Pickford has secured three clean sheets for his country in the tournament so far – including during his nation’s 3-0 win over Senegal on Sunday.

At the 2018 World Cup in Russia, when Gareth Southgate’s side lost to Croatia in the semi-final, he was one of his side’s best players, as well as a standout performer at Euro 2020.

Whilst Pickford has produced error-prone performances on the domestic stage, it’s a different story when he’s repping his country and that was highlighted by Neville, as he told ITV SPORT.

“Pickford does really, really well for England,” said Neville. “He grows for England.”

TOTTENHAM LOOKING FOR A GOALKEEPER

Everton have already sold a player to Spurs, when Richarlison swapped Goodison Park for Hotspur Way in the summer.

Some would argue that Everton’s financial position played a part in that, but Tottenham are interested in another Everton player.

With Hugo Lloris coming towards the end of his career, it has been suggested that Antonio Conte’s side a looking at Pickford as a possible replacement for France’s number one, as reported by 90Min.

At 28, Pickford is at the peak of his powers and he still has the ability to go up another level.

Those on Merseyside will be hoping it’s for them because, only last season, he won Everton’s Player of the Season award and played a huge part in the club staying in the Premier League.
