Tim Sherwood has said on Sky Sports that Moises Caicedo may not be a success at Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, pointing out that his former Brighton and Hove Albion teammate Yves Bissouma is struggling for playing time at Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur.
Sherwood has warned that Caicedo could struggle for playing time at Arsenal, noting that Bissouma is not having the best of times at Tottenham at the moment.
Bissouma moved to Tottenham from Brighton in the summer of 2022.
The 26-year-old Mali international has made eight starts and 11 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Spurs so far this season.
According to 90min, Arsenal have made a bid of £60 million for Caicedo.
Chelsea have also made an offer of £55 million for the 21-year-old.
Brighton have turned down both of them.
However, Caicedo has stated on Instagram that he wants to leave the Seagulls.
Former Tottenham manager Sherwood has warned the youngster about a potential move to Arsenal.

Moises Caicedo sent Yves Bissouma – Tottenham Hotspur warning about Arsenal
Sherwood said, as transcribed by Football365: “Sooner or later someone has got to make a stand. Tony Bloom might be that person to be able to do that and De Zerbi the manager, who has seen it happen with [Leandro] Trossard as well. The last thing you want as a manger is unhappy players at your club.
“When their heads are turned by big clubs, unfortunately you take the money, or you end up with nothing. Without the money or the player. So you’re better off taking the money.
“I think the kid needs to look at it very carefully, I think he needs to look at his mate [Yves] Bissouma who has gone to Tottenham. Everyone was lauding about this boy, where’s he going to go? Take his pick. Liverpool? He ended up at Tottenham and he’s not played.
“I’m not saying it’s entirely his fault but sometimes you can look a world-beater in a Brighton shirt [but] when they step up and play for a huge club it doesn’t happen.”
Staying positive
In our view, Moises Caicedo should not be concerned by what is happening to Yves Bissouma at Tottenham Hotspur and should be confident about being a success at Arsenal.
Tottenham are a very different club to Arsenal and have a manager who has different ideas to Mikel Arteta at the Gunners.
Yes, Caicedo will have to work hard to play week in and week out for the Gunners, but this is an opportunity that is really hard to turn down.
Arsenal are one of the biggest clubs in the world and a global brand, and they could win the Premier League title this season.
