Former Premier League winner Paul Ince spoke on Matchday Live on Optus Sport about Arsenal skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gunners succumbed to their third straight home defeat in the Premier League on Sunday. Mikel Arteta’s side had an awful game, and they are now in a real spot of bother after just 13 points from their opening 10 games – their worst start to a season in almost 40 years.
Arsenal had similar problems under Unai Emery before he was sacked last year. Everything the former Arsenal boss tried didn’t work, and Arteta seems to be in that position at the moment.
Aubameyang was one of the key reasons why Arteta had a fantastic start to life as Arsenal’s manager. His goals helped the club win the FA Cup and the Community Shield but, now that he is struggling, the whole team seem to have run out of ideas.
Ince: Aubameyang wants to leave Arsenal
Ince was asked about Aubameyang’s form after the game yesterday and the former Manchester United man feels that the Arsenal skipper looks like he wants to leave the club despite signing a new £250,000-a-week deal just over two months ago (ESPN).
He said: “Aubameyang is a worry, he looks frustrated, not getting enough service. If he doesn’t, even though he has signed a three-year contract, I can’t see him being there next year. I really cant. He has that body language where he doesn’t look like he’s happy. It doesn’t look right.”

Arsenal had to work really hard to convince Aubameyang to put pen to paper. He was undoubtedly their best player last year and, without him, Arteta would have been under a lot more pressure than he is now.
The Gunners skipper is currently on the worst run of his career. Aubameyang has been prolific wherever he has been, but something isn’t quite clicking at Arsenal for him at the moment.
A lack of creativity is the biggest issue, but his movement off the ball hasn’t been great either. Arsenal fans have no reason to panic about losing Aubameyang just yet. But, if things don’t improve in the coming months, he may well look for a club that suits him better.
