Liverpool’s win away to Brighton was slightly soured by an injury last night.
The Reds won 3-1 away at the Amex Stadium but there was an element of disappointment over how the match ended.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was forced into a change on 80 minutes as captain Jordan Henderson came off for James Milner.
Henderson has been an inspirational figure in Klopp’s midfield this season, skippering the team to a first-ever Premier League title.
But the 30-year-old looked in pain as he went down the tunnel following a potential knee injury and it remains to be seen whether he plays any further part in Liverpool’s season.
Henderson joined the club for £20 million back in 2011 and Charlie Adam, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, admits that his former team-mate has been simply phenomenal this season.
Adam said: “Jordan Henderson was a young lad when he arrived from Sunderland for a big fee. Sometimes it takes time to get used to a club but over the last five or six years he’s been phenomenal for Liverpool.
“He doesn’t look happy as he disappears down the tunnel.”
What a shame it’d be for Liverpool and Henderson if their captain was injured for the trophy ceremony.
Of course, Henderson, injured or not, will still lift the Premier League trophy and he’ll do so proudly, but he’d love to be playing in the last game and that looks in serious doubt now.
