Taiwo Awoniyi has been singing the praises of a former Liverpool teammate.
Well, kind of.
Awoniyi never actually managed a competitive, senior appearance for Liverpool due to work permit issues.
He finally received clearance to play for the Premier League club this past summer and once he did, the Anfield outfit sold him to Union Berlin for £6.5 million.
But Awoniyi still had a bit of a pre-season campaign under Jurgen Klopp and the towering striker has been paying tribute to Mohamed Salah.
Speaking to Goal, Awoniyi said: “When I met with him and saw him in training, you see a guy who has everything. He does everything, and everything is working together. His experience is coming into play now. He is a guy who always wants to do more for himself and for his club.
“It was something great for me to meet that kind of guy. He is really, really on the highest level of football for me.”

Indeed, the Liverpool attacker absolutely has everything.

Despite finishing seventh in the Ballon d’Or stakes, Salah is operating at a level that virtually nobody else is right now and for that, he deserves massive credit.
Liverpool are back in action with a visit of relegation-threatened Newcastle United this evening, and Salah’s talent, combined with the Magpies’ struggles this season, well you fear for Eddie Howe’s outfit if the Egypt international is in a punishable mood.
Victory would propel Klopp’s players to within a point of top-of-the-table Manchester City, who secured a 7-0 victory over Leeds United on Tuesday night.
