Chris Sutton and Robbie Savage asked a BBC producer to apologise on 606 Radio Five Live Sport for claiming that Leeds United would get relegated.

A Leeds fan rang up the radio talk show to ask whether the producer has changed his mind about previously predicting Marcelo Bielsa’s men to head back to the Championship.

Whilst West Brom and Fulham head for a potential quick return to England’s second-tier, Leeds have bossed their way into the top half of the table and can push further with three points against Manchester United on Sunday.

Nonetheless, both Savage and Sutton questioned their producer after a Leeds supporter rang up about his previous claims.

“We are just looking through the window,” said Savage. “I am going to ask the question. Do you think Leeds will still go down this year, Simon? He thinks they will be alright.”

Sutton added: “Shall we ask Simon to apologies to Joe (the Leeds fan)?”

Savage then responded: “He is just passing on his apologies. He’s laughing behind the window.”

Sutton then claimed: “He didn’t look sincere.”

Leeds have been the entertainers of the Premier League this season and that will only continue during the next campaign.

If the supporters are allowed back in then more popcorn will be needed because Elland Road will become a pretty difficult place to go.

Until then, they welcome their bitter rivals, Manchester United, to Yorkshire hoping to get revenge for that hammering at Old Trafford earlier on in the campaign.
