Ray Parlour has urged Jesse Lingard, on talkSPORT, to join West Ham this summer and stated that he could become ‘the main man’.
The Manchester United playmaker was on-loan at the London Stadium during the second half of last season, as Parlour labelled him as ‘superb’ during that period.
Lingard channelled his inner-Frank Lampard and he couldn’t stop scoring for the Hammers, who ended up securing Europa League football.
But given the depth in quality ahead of Lingard at Old Trafford, former Arsenal man Parlour thinks it’s best he leaves for the London Stadium.
“Definitely, it would be a good move for West Ham,” said Parlour. “He would be between that – £25-30 million.
“But what an impact he made last season. West Ham desperately need players. Great result at the weekend. Europa League to look forward to.
“It goes to show how professional he has been. When was the last game he played for Manchester United? And everyone thought it would take 5-6 games to get up to speed.
“He was superb. It shows he has been training really well. Not getting the opportunity. He must look in front of him and say ‘am I going to play on a regular basis?’. And, at his age, he can make a massive impact for West Ham – he could be the main man.”

This time last summer, Lingard had fallen off the face of the footballing earth.
And if Euro 2020 had taken place as scheduled then he wouldn’t have even got a mention.
But he was just edged out this summer because he went searching for minutes in January, which reminded everyone of the talents he has at his boots.
Lingard needs to make the same decision again and re-joining David Moyes’s side would be a wise move for the energetic midfielder.
