Tim Sherwood mocked Rodrigo Bentancur for trying to have a foot race with Demarai Gray during Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Everton on Saturday.
The former Spurs boss was making reference to how Bentancur was trying to match Gray when Everton were on the counter-attack over the weekend and told the midfielder ‘you can’t catch him’
Whilst Antonio Conte’s side could have conceded in the first half against the Toffees, especially Gray missing a number of big chances, it proved to be a comfortable day in the office for Spurs.

Jordan Pickford brought Harry Kane down in the penalty area, after he fumbled a simple shot, before the England captain dispatched the spot-kick past his fellow countryman.
And then, as Everton tried to chase the game, Spurs put it to bed, with Bentancur supplying Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg with an assist for the Dane’s third goal of the campaign.
Nonetheless, this is what Sherwood made of Bentancur trying to take on Everton’s flying winger in a race, as he told Premier League Productions.
“Bentancur with Demarai Gray on the counter-attack,” said Sherwood. “Bentancur thinks he can win a foot race, he can think again! He can’t catch him when he gets on the outside of him.
“Gray needs that little bit of composure. He needs to realise that he can’t win a foot race, but now he knows he can’t, then cuts across him and he should have finished it off.
“It does bobble up. That Spurs stadium is like a Billiard table. Yet Everton seem to have found two bobbles.”

POSITIVE MODD IN TOTTENHAM AND EVERTON CAMPS
Tottenham will be proudly sitting third in the Premier League table, with only one defeat in the league and looking to hunt down their rivals.
It’s been a pretty strong start in all competitions, including another win in the Champions League, and results going their way, seeing Conte push his team to the knockout stages of Europe.
Everton have tried to go down that road over the years, but struggled.
There are positive vibes at Goodison Park, at this moment, but it’s small and patient steps if they want a return to Europe.
